Follow @NigeriaPI A wicked housemaid in Malawi has been arrested after she allegedly chopped off the right hand of her boss’ new born baby after the man of the house got her pregnant and denied responsibility. The unwholesome act, as reported by Face of Malawi, an online portal in that country, happened in Chiradzulu, a district in the Southern Region of Malawi. According to report, the master of the house had been sleeping with the maid whose name was not given, and when she became pregnant and informed him, he blatantly denied responsibility and to take vengeance on him, she gruesomely cut off the hand of his new born baby. The maid was arrested after the mother reported the incident to the police where she allegedly confessed and gave reasons for carrying out such a brutal revenge on the innocent child. Follow @NigeriaPI The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Primary Health Care Board at the weekend launched the Sexual AssaultStanding Order and Sexual Assault EvidenceExamination Kit, also referred to as rape kits. This was in line with the mandate of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode. The Coordinator, Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, said the launch was done at a training session for health workers of Primary Health Care Centres. She listed the five pilot centres to include Ogudu, Ita-elewa in Ikorodu, Ajilete in Ifako-Ijaiye, Palm Avenue in Mushin and Oshodi in Oshodi-Isolo. According to the coordinator, the selection of the pilot PHC’s was methodically done as statistic reveals that sexual and gender based assault related crimes are most prevalent in these areas. These centres render 24 hours service. Her words: “The Rape Kits contain the necessary instruments used for evidence gathering and examination some of which include microscope slides, saline water, swabs for collecting fluids from delicate body parts like the lips, cheeks, thighs, private parts. “The Kit also includes materials for blood samples, comb, paper sheets for evidence collection such as clothing fibres and hairs, nail pick for scraping debris from beneath the nails, gloves. Akpobolokemi, alongside five others, are standing trial before Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos in a N2.3billion money laundering charge preferred against them by the EFCC. At the resumed hearing of the matter on Thursday, prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo led three witnesses Yahaya Mohammed Yusuf and Wakili Dauda,( both bureau de change operators) and Olamide Ogunsanya , an Assistant Director with NIMASA, in evidence. Yusuf ho s the 7th prosecution witness told the court how he received the sum of Two Hundred and Thirty Million, Nine Hundred and Twenty Six Thousand Naira (N230,926,000) from Extreme Vertex Nigeria Limited through an account: Kofar Fada Nigeria Limited, owned by his brother. Extreme Vertex Nigeria Limited is one of the companies alleged to have benefited from the disbursement of over Two Billion Naira from the Committee on International Shipping and Port Security( ISPS) in NIMASA. Yusuf said that the second accused person: Captain Ezekiel Bala Agaba was his long- time customer . According to him, on 7 November, 2014, Kofar Fada Nigeria Limited received the total sum of One Hundred and Forty Five Million, Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira Only (N145,350,000) in three tranches from Extreme Vertex Nigeria Limited. On 14 November, 2014, another Eighty- Five Million, Five Hundred and Seventy Six Thousand Naira ( N85, 576,000) was also paid in by the same company into Kofar Fada Nigeria Limited’s bank account....

The Nigerian woman who is married to a Liberian citizen reportedly decried her husband’s plan to sell their son and flee to Ghana. Ijeoma Ndoku raised an alarm which led to the arrest of her husband, Mr Daniel Barney. The Lagos state police command arrested Mr Barnney for selling his nine-month-old son Emmanuel for N250,000. Sources say Barley sold his son in a desperate attempt to raise cash to meet pressing family needs. The embattled Liberian who is currently being held at Festac police station over the matter, said he sold his son to a 43-year-old woman called Ekah Richard. According to the 32-yaer-old father, the sum of N250,000 was obtained from Ms Richard through Alhaji Adamu. He added that the money was given to him to start a business. He denied selling the baby, claiming that his wife abandoned the child, pointing out that since he could not cater for the boy alone, he took him to an orphanage. Chukwudi was arrested alongside some other members of the group, including Joseph Chiaotu, aka Ejima, 21, Anozie Chinonso, 25 and 27-year-old Chukwuma Agim, who is a prison official, in connection with the kidnap of a woman in Imo State. Speaking to journalists during the week, Chukwudi said he was studying Mechanical Engineering at Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Imo State before he dropped out in his final year. “What led me into kidnapping was unfortunate,” he said. He explained that the pressure to raise the bride price of his pregnant girlfriend lured him into the crime. He said, “My girlfriend is pregnant and I have been under pressure to pay her bride price but I had no money. She told me that since she became pregnant her mother had been ostracised by her fellow women in their village. Follow @NigeriaPI An Assistant Director with Nigerian Maritime Safety and Administration Agency, NIMASA, Mrs. Olamide Odusanya, made a startling revelation Thursday before a Lagos Federal High Court, of how the immediate past Director-General of the agency, Dr. Patrick Ziakede Akpobolokemi operated two banks accounts which they used in transferring about N2.5 billion, without the approval of the Accountant-Genaral of the Federation, (AGF). Odusanya, an Assistant Director of International Finance Services Department of the agency, was the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, ninth prosecution witness to testify in the on going trial of Akpobolokemi and six other accused persons. Akpobolokemi was arraigned before the court by EFCC alongside six others, on 22 counts bordering on allegations of conversion and theft to the tune of N2.6 billion. Other accused persons are: Captain Ezekiel Agaba, Ekene Nwakuche, Governor Juan, and three companies, namely Blockz and Stonz Limited, Kenzo Logistics Limited and Al-Kenzo Logistic Limited. When the trial resumed Thursday, Odusanya, while being led in evidence by the prosecutor, Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo, told the court that the said money was expended on the International Shipping and Ports Security code ISPS. She further told the court that before the agency spends any money on the ISPS code, approval is usually obtained from the presidency through the office of National Security Adviser, NSA, and that there was a committee for the ISPS which the second accused person, Captain Bala Agaba was the chairman. She said before drawing any money from NIMASA’s account to ISPS’s account, such drawing must get the approval of first accused person, Akpobolokemi, who was the agency’s accounting officer....

Barnney, one Pastor Samuel Osavitu and a worker at an orphanage, Alhaji Sunkanmi Adamu, are being quizzed at Festac Police Station over the matter. Barnney’s Nigerian wife Ijeoma Ndoku raised the alarm over his plan to sell their son and flee to Ghana last month…. Follow @NigeriaPI 60 year old Abdulahi Mohammed pictured above, has been arrested and charged before an Ogba Magistrates’ court for allegedly repeatedly raping a 13-year-old girl at his home in Bankole Agagu Street, Oke Aro, a boundary town between Lagos and Ogun states from 2015 into 2016. According to our source, Abdullahi lured the 13 year old girl into his home and forcefully penetrated her. He then warned the victim not to tell anyone. However her parents noticed her awkward movement caused by an injury she sustained during the penetration. When she was questioned, she narrated how the suspect has been forcefully having sex with her for months. Abdullahi was arrested and then charged for rape. When he was arraigned, Abdullahi pleaded not guilty to two-count charge under the Criminal Code. The presiding Magistrate, T. A. Elias granted him bail in the sum of N3 million with two sureties in like sum and ordered that he be remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri until he fulfills his bail conditions.
