Follow @NigeriaPI Kenyan police have apprehended a woman who allegedly chopped off her husband’s genitals after a domestic tiff in Mombasa. The accused, 32-year-old Mrs Pauline Mukiri, was arrested in Kiembein as she planned to flee on Saturday evening, and is being detained at the police station in the district of Bamburi. “She is being questioned and we hope to arraign her for murder Monday,” Kisauni OCPD Richard Ngatia said. The unfortunate victim, Mr Alloys Matata, 36, died while receiving treatment at Yeshua Medical Centre in Bamburi. The dispute ensued when the six-month pregnant woman went to a nearby bar where Matata was having a drink and started a quarrel over his repeated nights out. Eyewitnesses claim the couple went back home and shortly afterwards they heard the man screaming. “We found him lying in a pool of blood in one of the rooms,” said a neighbor, Mr Kennedy Kyalo, who took Matata to hospital. “We know the man is a drunkard. The two quarrel every now and then but the row degenerated into violence today,” Mr Kyalo said. “The woman has been complaining for the past several days about her husband’s behaviour.” This is yet another bizarre story to emanate from the East African country after an aggrieved man set his family ablaze over a minor dispute last month. Follow @NigeriaPI When it comes to sex and relationships, potential problems are constantly brewing for couples. Though some may have a slightly different definition of what qualifies as infidelity, most people seem to believe that it involves sexual or physical betrayal. This type of betrayal is incredibly painful for the partner who has been cheated on, and countless self-help books discuss ways to cope with this kind of hurtful event when it penetrates a romantic union. Infidelity is a way of life now especialy with social media. we have millions of signs that differ in cheating, lets sneak into some: He/she takes his phone with him every time he goes to the bathroom: like really, you cn just leave your phone in the bedroom for a 5 minutes shower but a cheating partner won’t do that He has more friends that are girls than you do, and he only has a few guy friends: every picture, every call, every message is from one girl or the other and they are all his friends and vice-versa. really, cant you make friends with your own gender You haven’t met a lot of his friends even though you hang out with him a lot. They’re always busy: this does not work all the time, sometimes you meet the friends and family and you remain a side chic but most cheating guys will keep you away from friends and family. His/her phone battery seems to die more than the average person’s,making him unreachable for extended periods of time: blame it on the electricity situation in Nigeria, lol but a cheating patner will want a dead phone...

Follow @NigeriaPI Federal Government of Nigeria has announced on Sunday that over 23,846 ghost workers were being removed from its monthly payroll, saving the government N2.293 billion from the total salary bill for the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for February 2016 when compared to December 2015 when the BVN audit process commenced. Speaking on the matter, the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, said the ghost workers were uncovered in payrolls of various MDAs during the ongoing bank verification number (BVN)-based staff audit and enrolment to the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). The BVN is a unique number that identifies each bank’s customer for “Know Your Customer” (KYC) purposes. The use of BVNs, rather than physical appearance of workers for biometric capture at the initial stage of verification, has significantly simplified and accelerated the progress of the payroll audit process and reduced the cost of implementation. It was also gathered that the BVN platform to audit and sanitise the salary payment system, ministry of finance, has so far checked the details of about 312,000 civil servants currently enrolled on IPPIS. Consequently, the development has led to the discovery of high level irregularities in salary payment. The audit is part of an anti-corruption campaign introduced by President Muhammadu Buhari. Corruption and mismanagement have long been a challenge to Nigeria’s growth, and the government has promised to cut costs to face an economic...
