A 35-year-oldman, Lawal Isiaka, was on Monday arraigned in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court over an alleged theft of 19 motor batteries.
Isiaka is facing a three-count of conspiracy, theft and burglary.
The prosecutor, Insp. Dopamu Olukayode, told the court that the accused committed the offences on February 24 at about 2:00 p.m. at Power Line area, Osogbo.
Olukayode said that Isiaka conspired with one other now at large to steal 19 car batteries belonging to one Awoyemi Femi.
He put the value of the 19 batteries at N345,000.
The offences contravened Sections 516, 413, and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11 Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The counsel to the accused, Mr Lukeman Adeniyi, prayed the court to grant his client bail on the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 and two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until April 4 for mention.
