A federal judge in Lagos ordered the forfeiture of a total of N34b linked to former Minister of Petroleum Resources Diezani Alison-Madueke on Thursday, Premium Times reports.
Justice Muslim Hassan issued the order mandating that three different funds – N23.4b, N9.08b, and $5m USD – are forfeited, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said they were the proceeds of illegal activity.
The judge had originally ordered the temporary forfeiture of the funds on January 6, but made an order demanding the “final forfeiture” of the money on Thursday.
