Follow @NigeriaPI Ebonyi state police command have arrested 24 year old Jacinta Ewa Omiko, for allegedly murdering her pregnant co-tenant, Ginika Gabriel, during a quarrel at their home in Akpoh village in Afikpo North Local Government Ebonyi State on January 28th. The Sun reports that trouble started when the deceased’s son, defecated at the hallway in their apartment. Jacinta challenged Ginika over her son’s act and the women soon began exchanging words. The suspect during the altercation, picked up a kitchen stool and hit it on Ginika’s head. She slumped immediately and died following the failure of her Neighbors to revive her. Her remains was later deposited at the God’s Seed Funeral Mortuary, Afikpo. When interrogated, Jacinta said she never intended to kill her neighbor. “What happened was that I asked my neighbour, Gabriel, to clear the feaces of her son on the floor of the passage, to avoid people stepping on it. She ignored me and we began exchanging words. Then a fight ensued and I pushed her down.”she said Confirming the incident, the state commissioner of police, Titus Lamorde said an autopsy would be carried out on the deceased while the suspect would soon be charged to court. Follow @NigeriaPI A Nigerian drug smuggler was arrested by the Himachal Pradesh Police with 1550 grams of heroin, on Monday, February 13th, following a confession from one of his dealers. The suspect identified as Okey Chikoo Mathew was arrested from Nawada, under the Uttam Nagar police station in Delhi from a private house. Parveen, who worked for him was arrested by Delhi Police patrol team last week in Kullu. “Parveen was arrested with 15 grams of heroin in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. During the investigation, Parveen disclosed that he is working for some Nigerian national (Okey Chikoo Mathew) who supplies drug to Himachal Pradesh.” the police said. The Superintendent of Police in Kullu District – Padam Chand said that on his tip, our team visited the Delhi and arrested Mathew with 1550 grams of heroin (approx Rs 4 crore). Mathew was also arrested in 2014 in Manali with 20 grams of heroin and was later released in 2015 after trail. The police officer said that we seized the drug from Mathew of worth Rs. 4 crore. Follow @NigeriaPI Benue State Police have arrested one Misa Mohammed that has been parading himself as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). Spokesman of the command, Moses Joel Yamu, said the suspect was arrested at No.33, off Egume Street in Wadata area of Makurdi after the command detailed its men on his trail following a tip off. Yamu said the suspect, whose real name was Misa Iorliam Francis, appeared to have been defrauded by an illegal recruitment syndicate and cautioned people against dealing with questionable characters promising them jobs. Speaking to newsmen, the suspect said a certain police officer, Uche Paul, who he met in 2013 when he registered for the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Plateau State had allegedly masterminded his recruitment into the police academy. “The man (Paul) took me to the police station and assured that he would recruit me. He later printed an acceptance letter which he gave me as the commencement of my training. He recommended books which I bought and he urged me to read them as part of my training for the four years I stayed there. “I went back to my people who donated N130,000 which I gave to Paul. I have been collecting things such as money and food items from my people for him during the period. And when he told me that I was going to pass out on February 3, 2017, I organised my people who went to thank him while I also did a thanksgiving in the church,” he said. Follow @NigeriaPI The Imo State Police Command says it has begun the arrest of suspects involved in the Zenith Bank robbery along Wetheral Road in Owerri, the state’s capital. The Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, stated this during a news conference at the headquarters of the Police Command in the Imo State capital. He said the command is making progress in arresting other prime suspects involved in the operation which happened on February 22, adding that they would be apprehended in no distant time. Mr Lakanu paraded about 50 suspected criminals allegedly involved in kidnapping, murder, cultism, fraud, child trafficking and car snatching among others. He disclosed that the command has successfully arrested the suspected murderer of an American veteran solider, Oscar Okebata, who was robbed and murdered on January 12. Follow @NigeriaPI A baby factory where teenage girls get pregnant and are aided to sell off their babies for as low as N300,000, has been discovered along Bukuru park in Jos, the Plateau state capital. The baby factory was discovered by some men of the Nigerian Army’s Operation, Safe Haven. The Commander of OPSH, Major General Rogers Nicholas, who disclosed this to newsmen, said the discovery was made following a tipoff from one of the victms of the baby factory, Happiness John. While narrating her experience to the Army, Happiness who just had her second child out of wedlock, said she was taken to the baby factory by a Friend who claimed she sold her set of twins for N400,000 in order to raise capital for her business. According to Happiness, when she got to the place, she was drugged. She later woke up to find out that she had delivered her baby. “During my first pregnancy almost two years ago, my friend, Zubaida came to me and told me that I should come and stay with her in a separate room so that when I gave birth, she would take me to Lafia in Nasarawa state to sell the baby and get capital to start a business. She told me she had once sold her twins in Abuja but I rejected the idea.
