21-year-old Who Stabbed His Father To Death In Enugu For Advising Him To Quit Cultism Regrets His Action.

Follow @NigeriaPI When Pastor Simeon Obelue called his 21-year-old son Chidubem Obelue and advised him to renounce his membership of a cult group, little did he know that it would lead to his untimely death. The 59-year-old cleric was until his tragic death, the parish pastor of Christ Holy Church a.k.a “Odozi Obodo” in Iwolla-oghi town, Ezeagu Local Government Area, Enugu State.Like every good father, Simeon had advised his son to renounce his membership of a cult group. Chidubem did not take kindly to the advice, and in anger packed out of the father’s house in the church premises on December 4, 2016 and relocated a house he rented for himself. This effectively set him free from attending the church. Apparently, he also began planning to attack his father. The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Danmallam, who confirmed the incident told Sunday Sun that on March 11, 2017, about 1.00am, Chidubem sneaked into the family house and passed through the kitchen, where he picked up a knife and laid an ambush for the father. When the unsuspecting man came out to urinate, Chidubem pounced on him. He stabbed the father in the stomach and ran out of the house. The loud scream of the mortally injured man drew that attention of his wife, who rushed out and beheld Chidubem running away from the stricken man. She ran after him and raised the alarmed, which woke up neighbours. In the haste to escape, the suspect’s cellphone fell from his pocket. Nigerian Police Sergeant Arrested For Releasing N4.1m Exhibit To Fraudsters.

Follow @NigeriaPI A policeman attached to the Maroko Police Division, Lagos, identified only as Sergeant Sunday, has been detained for allegedly releasing a sum of N4.1m recovered from a fraud suspect. The policeman reportedly released the exhibit to the suspect, identified simply as Emmanuel, who in turn gave the money to one Kate, who is at large. It was learnt that Emmanuel, who is the managing director of a construction company in the state, had ordered supply of diesel worth N4.9m from one Ms. Judith Ogbara. The one Martins, who worked for Emmanuel, took delivery of the product. Emmanuel was reported to have issued a Diamond Bank cheque of N4.9m to Ogbara as payment. Ogbara had gone to the bank to withdraw the sum when she was told that the cheque was fake. She was said to have called Emmanuel on the telephone and informed him of the development. When it appeared the payment for the goods was not forthcoming, she requested that the product be returned. The suspect and his workers allegedly absconded. After attempts to locate them failed, she was said to have reported a case of fraud to policemen at the Maroko division, who arrested Emmanuel and Martins on March 12, 2017. Follow @NigeriaPI The Imo State Police Command has arrested three fake army officers who specialize in defrauding unsuspecting applicants wishing to join the Nigerian Army. The suspects – Kinsley Inyang, EdetOkon and Victor Akpan – all from Akwa Ibom State were arrested atAmakohiaUbi in Owerri West local government area of the state. The new commissioner of police in the State, Chris Okey Ezike, disclosed this in his maiden media briefing at the Police Command Headquarters in Owerri. According to him, investigation had revealed that the affected candidates were ignorantly mandated by the suspects to pay the sum of eight thousand naira and seventy thousand naira for medical test and recruitment/training exercises respectively, adding that they are currently undergoing interrogation and would soon be charged to court. CP Ezike who is the 32nd commissioner of the police in the state said that he would adopt a high visibility policing method to rid the state of all criminals and their collaborators in the state. Professing his determination to fight serious crimes of armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism and other violent crimes with renewal vigour and commitment, he noted that arrest of suspects, rescue of kidnapped victims and recovery of fire arms/ ammunitions have been made by his men in addition to exhibits recovered. Follow @NigeriaPI The anti-kidnap unit of Imo State Police Command has rescued a businessman, Ben Kpaduwa, who was recently abducted in Anara Community, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the state. Briefing journalists, the state Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike disclosed that his men who rescued Kpaduwa on April 4, 2017 engaged in a shoot-out with the kidnappers resulting in one of them, Chinedu Imo of Ndiawa Arondizugo, sustaining serious injuries. According to Ezike, the injured lmo later died at a hospital where he was taken to, for treatment. The CP equally disclosed that one Mr. Chika Ihemena was arrested with the victim’s black Toyota Corolla car. Meanwhile, Ezike has also promised to fight cultism, kidnapping, car snatching, those who run baby factories, impersonation and other criminal activities to a standstill in the state. He informed that he intends to explore experiences of the past to bring about good policing to the people of the state.
