Wife Of LG Chairmanship Candidate Go Misssing

Follow @NigeriaPI Mrs. Kudirat Balogun, wife of Gafar Balogun, a chairmanship candidate under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been kidnapped in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital. Kudirat was reportedly kidnapped on Sunday by four gunmen who pretended to be visitors. It was gathered that the kidnappers arrived the Baloguns’ family home located at number 1, Sekoni Street in Olomore area of Abeokuta around 8pm on Sunday, where they seized the woman at gunpoint. As at the time of filing this report, the kidnappers had yet to contact the family. Meanwhile, Ogun State Acting Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident, adding that frantic efforts were ongoing to rescue the victim unhurt. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incidence. Fraud victim gets 5m naira

Follow @NigeriaPI The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, on Thursday August 18, 2016, through its South East Zonal Head of Operations, Mr. Obioha Okorie released a draft for N500,000 (five hundred thousand Naira ) to Dr. Veronica Ibeziako, a retired Chief Magistrate in Anambra State, being funds recovered for her by the Commission. The former magistrate was swindled by fraudsters while seeking for financial assistance to enable her proceed for medical treatment abroad. According to the victim, she was billed for a surgical procedure abroad, which was going to cost N3, 000,000.00 (three million naira only), but ended up being defrauded of N500, 000 (five hundred thousand  naira). 14 abducted bus passengers regain freedom in Rivers

Follow @NigeriaPI Fourteen passengers kidnapped in Ogba/Egnema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State last Friday have regained freedom. The Rivers State Police Command confirmed the release of the passengers, saying that they were released on Sunday night. The passengers were kidnapped on Friday by gunmen, who intercepted their 14-seater bus along Elele-Ikiri-Omoku Road and diverted the vehicle to a nearby bush, where the occupants were ordered to walk into the bush. The bus marked ONELGA Link was set ablaze by the hoodlums. Spokesman of the state police command, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, said the victims were released after a tactical and diligent operation by operatives of the Command. Omoni disclosed that no ransom was paid for the release of the victims, adding that they (the victims) had since reunited with their families. “On the 12th of August, 2016, 14 passengers were abducted while traveling from Omoku to Port Harcourt in a bus. “In a swift reaction by the Command’s Tactical Units, the hostages were released unhurt. “They have been debriefed and have reunited with their families.
