The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on February 22, 2016 re-arraigned Rev. Kim David Pam on an amended 18-count charge bordering on stealing, fraudulent misappropriation and criminal breach of trust, before Justice Longji of Plateau State High Court Jos.
The accused is said to have abused his position as Chairman of Goodliving Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society and the sole signatory of the accounts domiciled in First Bank Nigeria Plc and Zenith Bank Nigeria Plc, among other offences.
One of the charge reads, “that you Reverend David Kim Pam between the 23rd day of April 2012 and the 11th day of May 2012 through one James Pam misappropriated the sum of Eleven Million, Three Hundred and Fifty Eight Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (11,358,500.00) being money belonging to Goodliving Multi Purpose Cooperative Society domiciled at First Bank Nigeria Plc Jos Main Branch and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 308 of the Penal Code Law of Plateau State and punishable under section 309 of the same Act”.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In view of his plea, the prosecution counsel C.D Denis asked the court to fix a date for trial to commence.
Justice Longji adjourned to April 12, 2016 for definite hearing.
Pam who was initially arraigned sometime in November 21, 2013 pleaded not guilty to a 9-count charge before Justice Yargate B. Nimpar of the Plateau State High Court.
Justice Nimpar granted bail to the accused in the sum of N5 million with two sureties in like sum. One of the sureties must own a landed property in Bukuru area of Jos and must be a public servant not below the level of director .
Justice Nimpar adjourned the case to December 9, 2013 for hearing as was later transferred after her elevation and the matter was reassigned.
